Last week, DT-GEO researchers participated in the 2024 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting, held in Washington, D.C. The event provided a unique opportunity for researchers and professionals to share their latest findings and tackle key challenges in geoscience. DT-GEO presented cutting-edge research across four key sessions, showcasing the team’s commitment to advancing geohazard understanding and mitigation.

The EDANYA research group from the University of Málaga, specializing in Differential Equations, Numerical Calculation, and Applications, has been honored by the Public Safety School of the City Council of Málaga (ESPAM). This recognition highlights their outstanding contributions to advancing public safety through innovative research. The award ceremony will take place on December 11, 2024.

Last Friday, students aged 16-17 from López Vicuña Institute from Barcelona swapped their usual classrooms for a crash course in geophysics. Paula Herrero-Barbero, a researcher from GEO3BCN-CSIC, and Alejandra Guerrero, PhD student from the same institution, led an engaging session on the fascinating world of volcanoes and earthquakes.
