EOSC Symposium 2024

On October 22nd, DT-GEO had the opportunity to participate in the “EOSC and the Digital Twins” session at the EOSC Symposium 2024. The event brought together key initiatives in the Digital Twins landscape in Europe, co-organized by DT-GEO, DestinE, BioDT, interTwin, and ILIAD/aquaInfra.

The session focused on exploring interoperability at both data and service levels, highlighting challenges and sharing transferable approaches and tools. It provided valuable insights into how Digital Twins can be leveraged across various research domains, offering a platform for discussions about future innovations and collaborations. DT-GEO was represented by researcher Ignacio Blanquer, coordinator of the Spanish Network of e-Science and serves as an expert to the Spanish Ministry of Science in the areas of e-Science. He is also the Spanish delegate of e-IRG. He has coordinated three European projects on cloud applied to science and serves as work package coordinator in European projects related to scientific data.

It was a productive day of networking and knowledge exchange, with a shared goal of advancing Digital Twin platforms in the context of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). The session underscored the critical role of these platforms in enhancing research capabilities and driving forward the future of scientific collaboration.
